My name is Megan Willrett and I could not be more thrilled to serve as your Principal. Working at Valley View Middle School has been a dream of mine for the past 8 years. Prior to coming to VVMS, I was the Dean of Students at Kennedy and prior to being the Dean, I was a counselor for six years at Kennedy. And even before landing in Bloomington, I was an elementary teacher and counselor in North Minneapolis for almost 10 years.
I have worked in various school settings for over seventeen years and am comfortable working with students at any grade level, but I am most excited about working with middle schoolers. I am looking forward to learning from all of the students, parents and staff as I begin this new journey at Valley View Middle School. I am dedicated to the success of each student, ambitious about what students can achieve, and looking forward to working alongside another group of dedicated educators, students and families. I look forward to to meeting and getting to know each and everyone of you. Please know that my door will always be open for you.
My name is Ashley Modrow and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal at Valley View Middle School. Prior to this position, I was fortunate to experience a variety of roles in the Bloomington School District. From 2004- 2012, I worked at Oak Grove Middle School as a 6th grade social studies teacher, a 6th grade math teacher, and as the Dean of Students. In 2012, I was hired as a Q-Comp Peer Coach. Over the past four years, it has been my great pleasure and honor to work with and support faculty at multiple elementary and secondary sites in our district, including Valley View Middle School. This year I am looking forward to working with, supporting, and learning from our amazing students, families, and faculty at Valley View in an even greater capacity. It has been an incredible start to our school year and I am excited to be a part of this wonderful community. Please feel free to stop by or call with any questions concerns you may have.
My name is Nick Vogel and I am humbled and honored to serve as your Dean of Students! I’ve already had an opportunity to work at Valley View and love the energy emitting from your children! Since 2012, I was the Counselor at Olson Elementary & Middle Schools. At Olson, I coached football, track & field, snowriders and served as yearbook and GSA advisor. Supervising extracurricular activities has provided me the opportunity to build rapport with students in and out of the classroom.
I am dedicated to connecting and building relationships with you and your child. Your child is in an environment that fosters optimum development; academically, socially and emotionally. During my tenure in education I learned that students need to feel safe in order to learn and succeed. I will do everything in my power to provide a safe space conducive to maximizing your child’s learning potential.
